Hi. I’m Min Jung. Though I frequently go by MJ and I used to go by what I jokingly refer to as my “Slave Name” of Julia.
I have lived (and continue) to live an interesting life.
As a Writer I’ve published poetry, short fiction, personal, humor op-ed pieces, and reviews for films, books, and travel destinations.
- I’ve been published in lots of places, had a column for several years at KoreAm Journal, had other pieces published in magazines including Hyphen Magazine and Bananamag.
- I have particpated in several anthologies, and had poetry included in several magazines and audio collections.
- I have been credited with thanks for my contributions for other books as well including a NYTimes best seller on Lolcats – I Can Has Cheezburger and Sparkle – The Gayest Book you’ll Ever Love – a totally homosexual mystery novel.
- I participated in the Citizen Media Core for several film festivals doing reviews, participated in the Virtual Book Tour and enjoyed an extended stint doing travel-related reviews for American Express
- I was even flown to Vegas to preview the Cirque de Soleil show, LOVE (The Beatles show)
As a Blogger I’ve written on this site for over 10 years, participated in group blog games, won awards and anti-awards, and even a blogpost on personal blogging which apparently was one of the most widely read blogposts in 2005.
- Webgames include Survivorblog, BlindDateBlog, and BigBloggerAllstar
- Group Blogs past postings include IIStix.com, Metblogs.com, Blogher.com, 8Asians.com
- Awards include my participation in Survivorblog, I was finalist in the GLBT category for the Bloggies award on the FagHag platform, and I won an Anti-Bloggie once for being “Most Stalkable”
- I’ve contributed a lot of photography over at SFist.com
- This blogpost was apparently one of the Top 20 blogposts of 2005.
As an Online Person(ality) I’ve contributed beta feedback for some webservices, spoken at some conferences, had some stuff written about me, and been generally known to hug people, drop kisses on their cheeks, or jot down clever haikus while getting “famous web people” drunk.

As an Artist/Performer/Advocate I’ve read some poetry and short stories at an awesome multi-disciplinary arts festival, created and curated a series of Blog=>Performances related events, and once called my Dad live on stage via a mic’ed up speakerphone. I’ve also advised and volunteered with a few great organizations. I was once a partner in a record label and produced a great compilation CD.

- I also co-wrote and co-produced a short film.
As a Marketing Professional I have had an interesting career that’s lead me from large corporations to successful and not-so-successful startups, to currently working to help great authors extend their brand and reach online.
- I used to work at Supernews before the company was sold and had (not joking) a monkey poop on my keyboard. My ex-boss is now married to Al Gore’s daughter.
- My shortest career stint was at TheMan.com.
- During the first dot.com bust I wound up working as a Santa Photo Shoot manager for Stanford mall and was written up about it in the Oakland Tribune.
- I was the product marketing manager for Comcast in SF that deployed and marketed services including High-Speed Internet, HDTV, DVR, and On-Demand to over 700,000 homes in the bay area. I can still wave at most technicians driving around SF and be recognized at least half the time.
- I was the Marketing Manager at Photobucket.com as they grew form 17MM users to over 44 MM registered users and got to meet Mandy Moore for a contest promotion that I managed.
- My birthday party was the book launch party for NYTimes best seller “The Four-Hour-Workweek”
- I personally helped launch the book I Can Has Cheezburger in the bay area by coordinating several launch events including a charity event with the SF Zoo and speaking engagements at Yahoo & Google.
As a Person I’m your average navelgazing Asian American woman who grew up in the midwest, found my true love in San Francisco, got married, and is currently expecting my first child. I’ve had plenty of adventures in my lifetime including being stranded at a French Convent post 9/11, crashing an MTV Fashion party in Berlin and partying it up with the headlining performers, camping trips where I sit in a river and get sunburnt while drinking beer and chucking rocks, and getting Sandra Oh to leave a voicemail msg on my exboyfriend’s answering machine. This is old and just barely updated but mostly still true.
Hi.
Who the fuck are you?

Miss you from TCI/AT&T days!!! Last I saw you I was stealing one of your cloves and smoking in the back lot. I believe I had an interview with my current employer that day and was sporting a hicky that I was so stressed over and you told me it was SO noticeable! LOL
Congrats on the beautiful little hipster you brought into this world! Good to find you doing well and very happy.
Cheers,
Holly

I’m a mom, a blogger, and a Ph.D. student, and I need your help. I’m doing a study about why women blog, and you have been selected at random to participate in a short survey about what motivates you to blog and what you get out of blogging.
I hope you will take it by clicking this link. Please do not forward the link.
