So I’ve been remiss in writing a proper post here in a while as opposed to a mere tweet summary of my outings and eatings.

I’m officially 36 and I’m grateful for a lot of things that seem to be going well so far.

As I’ve written before, this is the year of the Tiger, so ideally, as it’s supposed to be my year, things are *supposed* to be pretty decent for me.

We’re off to a good start so far.

This past saturday I celebrated in full porkbelly fan fare at one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the area – Hanuri BBQ and was fortunate to be joined by loads of super awesome loving friends.

Given an opportunity, I would have shown a picture of the samgyopsal (porkbelly) but apparently we ate it too quickly for it to be documented.

Being surrounded by loving friends is, as always, the best way to celebrate a milestone and having my loving husband and happy healthy daughter there with me made me recognize how really blessed I am. (Also- can you believe my father-in-law drove down from Tacoma too?)

We’ve been back in the bay area a whole year now and it’s wonderful to be surrounded by familiar friends and places. I’ve always loved San Francisco and recently I had a day out with the baby that made me think that SF loves me back.

It started off with finding Perfect Parking(TM) while picking up a friend in Noe Valley to go have lunch in the Haight.(Also with Perfect Parking).

Then Perfect Parking (TM) as we went to Golden Gate Park to hang out and see cute cool things at the Cal Academy of Sciences.

Then off to meet up with another friend in the Mission for coffee where we again found Perfect Parking (TM).

Which was followed up by picking up another friend from home in Soma and waiting for her at her building with Perfect Parking (TM)

And then having dinner (which was in itself perfect – at Absynthe) in Hayes Valley where we again found Perfect Parking (TM).

Having lived in the bay area for over a decade, I am clearly aware of the absurdity and extreme unlikelihood of consistently finding perfect parking throughout the day. But it was a sunny and gorgeous day, Amelia was in a sparkling mood, and it was clear from all signs from the universe that I was clearly meant to be back in the bay area where I love it and felt loved.  (Seriously – in 14 years in SF I’ve never found perfect parking in Noe Valley, Haight, Golden Gate Park, Mission, Soma, and Hayes Valley. That’s just crazy talk.)

Life is good.
