Random awesomeness
Wednesday, August 29th, 2007Jason and I just realized that we re-enacted our very first date one year ago today.
This involved chicken pot pie and sherry and chocolate cake.
Serendipity is a delightful experience.

Craploads of spam on the blog today. Appears that running wp 2.0 is not sufficient.
Time to upgrade soon enough.
You know those religious cult flicks and books that talk about the rapture?
Where folks depart this earth in a flight towards heaven and then there’s the chaos left on earth for those “left behind?”
Come on, of course you do. It’s referenced in 6 feet under, the simpsons, and most other pop culture commentary/cleverati specials that are in the media.
Well the Parking Rapture is iminent for San Francisco.
For you see — everyone is heading out for Burning Man.
And I, with my aversion to huge crowds and penchant for heat rashes is staying in SF.
Which makes the city during the week when everyone else is out in the desert absolutely deserted.
I can find parking ANYWHERE in the city.
I can go anywhere and find the crowds decidedly less furtive.
I’m left behind in the company of little Chinese ladies and fuddy duddies who don’t like sweat and dust.
It’s a land bereft of geeks & hipsters, hoopers, clubbers, teens, nerds, nouveau chic geek, and what not.
I’m left behind.
And seriously, I don’t really mind it.

Laugh-Out-Loud Cats #14

For a lame-ass explanation for why I’ve not been (out/blogging/partying/twittering/attendingmeetings/emailing/shopping/lunching/workingout/socializingmore) I will avoid telling you the truth of my lameness (which is really getting to level 61 in Wow and acquiring my full PvP set) but state that I am buried under a tremendous amount of clutter. Physical and mental and psychological and project based clutter.
For instance:
I’ve got 3 full hampers of clothes
4 tall piles of mail and magazines
An inbox that just upchucked and duplicated emails which require re sorting and deleting – to the tune of 50k emails (whittling down to 44K as we speak and deleting like mad)
travel plans up the wazooooooo
and oh yeah, that wedding thing.
and a great desire for clean clean clean clean mental and physical space.
Tomorrow starts building out the home office.
I mean it.
