Today’s Thunks 12.12.06

Some things you forgive:

Like your body when it decides, just for fun, to make you look wildly stupid and as if you have no self control whatsoever and persistently, absent-mindedly, and embarrassingly, publicly pick *at* your nose because you have an ingrown hair or some sort of inner nasal cavity zit thing happening there.

Some things you do NOT forgive.

Rosie Odonnell with her “Ching Chong Ching Chong” comments is one of them.

I mean seriously. Is it really *that* much different than Michael Richards’ “nigger” comment?

And as much as I don’t want say that I *ever* should be listed as politically alligned with Michelle Malkin, well, she is pretty damn clever here.

Also:

That former marketing exec of Walmart that I mentioned earlier?

Still in trouble. And updates from LinkedIn of all places, feed the rumor mill.

And seriously, for *Walmart*, do you think they’d really be ok with hiring an agency that uses this ad?

no matter how clever it is?

Also:

After spending the weekend with DrMcNerdyNerdy and his daughter this weekend, I have had a wierd shift in awareness about the whole “family/parenting” thang which seems so wildly foreign from my normal life of cheeky single frivolty and general irresponsibility.

BUT!

With other marketing/ad related news of this site Babble.com

leading me to updates on Blogher here on this post

led me to parenthood blogger Pierre Kim (yay! Korean papas!) and Rice Daddies

which includes links to another blog called Brain Dump and also leads me back to Kimchi Mamas which also rants on Rosie but also includes a fundraising project for Asian Pacific Women’s Center (link currently down) which I’m sure to drop some dollars at this season.

So yeah, korean people, parenthood, blogging, kimchi, rice, cussing, professional fuckups, and the world colliding in some sort of cosmic logic that I have no insight into whatsoever.

Which leads me to feel today weirdly angry, displaced, and hopeful at the same time.
