I don’t administer my MT install, but the most interesting suggestion was to change the mt-comments.cgi filename to something unique. That would foil probably 95% of comment spammers who spider for said file and then query it to death.

Not that I have anything against WordPress. There certainly seems to be a common refrain among MT users that they’re getting deluged, though.
