It’s a Kim thing.

Friday, May 30th, 2003

KB: So what’s the latest?
Moi: Not much.
KB: Dad doing ok?
Moi: Oh yeah.
KB: How can you tell?
Moi: Today he told me my legs were fat.
KB: (jaw audibly dropping to ground)
Moi: Yeah.
KB: And that’s a good thing?
Moi: Yeah. If he’s spirited enough to call me fat, then he’s doing great.
KB: I see.
Moi: Yeah. It’s a Kim thing. Let me tell you about the time that my brother and Dad conferred that I had gained weight over the holidays.
KB: They what?!
Moi: Apparently, Dad told my brother that I finally had boobs. I’d gotten fat.
KB: Brilliant.
Moi: Yeah.

Uh Oh

Thursday, May 29th, 2003

KB: It. Has. Begun.
Moi: Ok dramaqueen, what’s up now?
KB: Nothing & Everything.
Moi: Um, kay.
KB: The rapid dissolution of a false reality. A deterioration of a self constructed facade.
Moi: Did you just watch the matrix or something?
KB: No.
Moi: Then what gives?
KB: I just realized…
Moi: Spit it out.
KB: We’ve had mini monologues at each other. We don’t talk.
Moi: And so?
KB: Just that. What do I do when I’m old and finally wrinkly?
Moi: Huh?
KB: Well, right now we have the good sex life. We won’t have that when we’re older.
Moi: And this means…
KB: We’ll have to talk. And J. & I don’t talk. We talk at each other. Snippets. Etc. but we don’t talk. Yesterday and today both, he didn’t even ask me how I was.
Moi: A pity. Are you still farting on him?
KB: Every night.
Moi: And…
KB: It makes me feel better…but it also makes me feel sort of sad.
Moi: Oh barf.
KB: Yeah I know.
Moi: I got that lipstick you told me to go get. It’s called Choco Lots. Chocolate flavored lovely brown goodness.
KB: Did it work?
Moi: To make me feel a little better? Yeah I guess.
KB: Gimme. Are you going to blog this?
Moi: You want me to?
KB: No. Yes. …no, yes.
Moi: Um.
KB: I love the sense that I’m some sort of Heddy Lamar type character in your site.
Moi: Anyting you vant my dahling.
KB: He’s calling on the other line. Must go. *smooch*

Cool Ass Shit in Asian America

Wednesday, May 28th, 2003

Tis the tail end of APA heritage month. Go beat up “Da Man”or something. Kidding. Seriously though, read these cool new publications.

Hyphen Magazine | Asian America Unabridged

The first issue is fantastic.

The writing, design, & stories are solid, contemporary, thoughtful, entertaining, and challenging.

If you want to stalk me, (kidding), I’ll e at their SF launch Party which should be an insane hoot.

Evite for the Party (Discount for the party & year long subscription).

North of the border goodness can also be found with Bambooda

Brilliant work by my pals over there at both Hyphen & Bambooda.
(And no, I didn’t write anything for them. Goodness knows I’m a fluff writer and I was too damn lazy and intimidatd to submit something and now I know why).

In the latest installment of conversations with the kissing bandit.

KB: How you holding up, lovey?
Moi: Grand.
KB: Is that “Grand” as in “It was the biggest dick I’ve ever seen and it’s mine all mine” type of “Grand” or is it “Grand” as in “The canyon is a big fucking hole in the ground and I just want to throw myself down it” type of “Grand.”
Moi: Feh.
KB: Go buy yourself a new lipstick.
Moi: What are you trying to say?
KB: It’s $3.50 worth of love that always makes you feel good and it’s less fattening than chocolate.
Moi: *Now* what are you trying to say?
KB: Feh (wink)
Moi: Bitch.
KB: And that’s why you love me.
Moi: So what’s the word in your world?
KB: Revenge is sweet.
Moi: What? The boy thing? You broke up?
KB: No. I just got back at him for something stupid that he did the other night.
Moi: What he do?
KB: He forgot to kiss me goodbye the other morning.
Moi: And that’s a crime?
KB: Enough of one in my book.
Moi: Ok then, so what was the punishment then?
KB: I farted on him.
Moi: GROSS!
KB: He was asleep. I’m sure he didn’t even notice.
Moi: WHAT?!
KB: Yeah, while we were all snuggled up and spooning, I let one loose on his leg.
Moi: Did he wake up?
KB: No.
Moi:Did he notice it?
KB: No.
Moi: I can’t believe you did that.
KB: It felt *great*.
Moi: You are one fricking twisted chick.
KB: Look. I get back at him. I feel better. It’s like I get to punch him without feeling guilty about it afterwards.
Moi: Sure thing Ms manbeater. Man eater. Both. Whatever.
KB: Well, he’s only going to last through the next month or so anyways.
Moi: You said that last month.
KB: I know.
Moi: (*wink*)
KB: (*squeal of delight*) (*pooty fart*)
Moi: PUAH HA HA HAHA

Testing your Gaydar

Tuesday, May 27th, 2003

Similar in format to ABC’s “The Bachelor,” “Boy Meets Boy” features an eligible man looking for love in a pool of 15 potential mates. But in a twist worthy of the bogus baron on Fox’s “Joe Millionaire,” some of the suitors are actually heterosexual men who were paid by the program to pretend to be gay — unbeknownst to the eligible bachelor.

Back in Michigan

Sunday, May 25th, 2003

I’m back in Michigan for two weeks. No big worries.
Just taking care of some stuff here and still working while I’m hanging with Dad.

What this means in the interim:
Probably less blogging volume & frequency.
More time on IM.
And lots of home cooking.

Laters!

Lomo Mirror Shot

Thursday, May 22nd, 2003

I really must get a better handle on how to use this darling camera.
I mean, besides when taking photos of Ernie. Of the 6 rolls that I’ve taken, there are about a dozen that are interesting lomo shots and 3 that are perferctly marvelous snaps of Ernie. Crisp, clear, and quite flattering.
The rest of the roll is utter waste. My camera loves Ernie. Just like everyone else does.

From another roll, here’s a pix of me.

In a secret identity
crawling into a skein
of flesh and bones, cotton
nothing more

Walking limpless steps
Without neonic outerspace scars
Shoving a shoulder against
An ordinary door

No ultranemisis
No stoic challenges
No time traveling convoluted plotlines
Or epic xenophobic or psycho sanctual war

A simple day
An ordinary breath
A reminder of
My inner core
