Friday Night’s *Wild* and Crazy Plans

A long hot shower.
A good hard cry.
And a heavy, deep sleep without dreams.

I need it. Trust me.

Tori Moment

Friday, January 31st, 2003

I’m having a Tori Moment

Silent All These Years
Excuse me but can I be you for a while
My dog won’t bite if you sit real still
I got the anti-Christ in the kitchen yellin’ at me again
Yeah, I can hear that

Been saved again by the garbage truck
I got something to say, you know, but nothing comes
Yes, I know what you think of me, you never shut-up
Yeah, I can hear that

But what if I’m a mermaid
In these jeans of his with her name still on it
Hey, but I don’t care, ’cause sometimes
I said sometimes, I hear my voice
And it’s been here,
Silent all these years

So you found a girl who thinks really deep thoughts
What’s so amazing about really deep thoughts
Boy, you best pray that I bleed real soon
How’s that thought for you
My scream got lost in a paper cup
You think there’s a heaven
Where some screams have gone
I got 25 bucks and a cracker
Do you think it’s enough
To get us there

‘Cause what if I’m a mermaid
In these jeans of his with her name still on it
Hey, but I don’t care, ’cause sometimes
I said sometimes, I hear my voice
And it’s been here,
Silent all these years

Years go by, will I still be waiting
For somebody else to understand
Years go by, if i’m stripped of my beauty
And the orange clouds raining in my head
Years go by, will I choke in my tears ’till
Finally there is nothing left
One more casualty, you know
We’re too easy, easy, easy

Well I love the way we communicate
Your eyes focus on my funny lip shape
Let’s hear what you think of me now
But baby don’t look up, the sky is falling

For every verse, there’s exactly one line that hits my state of mind on the head.
If I told you which one, I’d be telling too much.
If I didn’t tell you anything would you know where my head’s at?
I’m not sure where I am today. I’m reeling inside my own head and feeling chilly and without a sense of balance.

Vanity Alert

What kind of excercises are best for quick optimization of chubby pitts?
Maybe I’m being all neurotic (well I know I am) but it’s tank top season around the corner and I’m feeling like I need to tone up the upper chest a bit between the shoulder, the bicep, and the chest. I got slightly plump pitts in the meantime and it’s weird. If I let it go, will I look like I have 4 breasts?

Yes I’m a freak.

For the re-FOB in you.

International Channel is dissolving borders and crossing cultures in its new prime time programming block, “Asia Street.” Viewers can watch the hottest titles in anime, music, martial arts, action and award winning movies in English or subtitled in English.
Music/Variety/News/Drama | Anime | Films

Asia Street” Music and Variety/Drama/News
The loudest TV wins on “Asia Street” because International Channel is cranking up the volume. International Channel hypes the tunes, flicks, and faces that are “Asia Street.” Anything fashionable, sexy and rocking goes full throttle @ 10:00pm EST.

“Asia Street” Anime
The anime on International Channel’s “Asia Street,” is some of the hottest youth-specific content on television. These titles are fast, edgy and futuristic. Young Asian Americans are watching. You can count on it!

“Asia Street” Film Festival
International Channel has packaged the most spectacular library of Asian movie content on record. It’s a mixed bag full of prestigious names for the entire year with the best of the best in martial arts, action, and award winning movie titles. No seasoned movie buff will walk away disappointed.

Ok, maybe only *my* inner fob is delighted. But it’s promising to have a lot of Asian foreign films, mini series, etc all subtitled for younger Asian Americans who are into Asian culture but have language handicaps challenges like me. Wee. Setting up the Tivo.

Reality Check

Wednesday, January 29th, 2003

When all the shit hits the fan, you think about how oft times tenuous various relationships are within your life.

Who are your friends?
Why are you good to them?
Why are they good to you?

Last night I was visiting Vince with Cheyenne and Gretchen. All new friends and brought to me by the odd world of blogging. Vince looked very well considering his recent appendectomy and was kind enough to flash us ladies a bit. He is appalled at the runway path shaved towards his goodies which happens to be no where near the stitches which cover his now absent appendix. Gretchen showed us a lovely Get Well wish on a 12 year old’s bare chest. Casey, whom I’d met before with his roommate David aka Sister Edith My Flesh joined us for giggles and hugs.
I consider how many wonderful and odd people I’ve crossed paths with as a result of this world.

Over all, net gain.

I’m happy.

Bloggies – Wah? Again?

I think Rannie makes some very level headed and clear points.
Both in his post, and in defense to some accusations/attacks in the comments.

No one deserves the abuse and level of character assassinations that have come out of this. No one.

Poetica Spontenaium – 01.28.03

It’s not oft I want to tie up my wrists in twine
Choke on bitter wine
With shaggy monsters, dine

It’s not oft I see the hideous beauty in gore
Want to lick an open sore
Be bludgeoned, and ache for more.

You look at me and shudder
But deep down I know you know
What it’s like to love another
After you’ve been told, it’s time to go.

Another Bloggies/SXSW post? Oh what the hell.

My Email Response re: this Train Wreck.

On Mon, 27 Jan 2003 19:02:21 EST , NikolaiNolan@aol.com sent:
Hi there. If you haven’t figured it out yet, one or more of your sites is a finalist for the 2003 Weblog Awardsâ„¢, or the Bloggiesâ„¢ as some don’t like to call them.

So I can organize the order of the awards ceremony that will be at the South by Southwest Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas, on March 9, I’d like you to answer a few questions:

1. Remind me what your site is and what you were nominated for:

http://www.minjungkim.com
Nominated for GLBT (Yes, so scandalous)
Nominated for Best Tagline (More Margaret Cho Than You)

(Sadly, “More Attached to Her Vibrator than Peanutbutter on White Bread” was not selected. Nor was “Violent like a Chihuahua but Cuter”)

2. Are you attending SXSW? (If not, skip to question 6):

Yes.

3. What is your full name?:

Min Jung Kim

4. Do you expect to attend the ceremony on Sunday at 3:00? (See www.sxsw.com/img/ia/IApanels*.pdf for possible conflicts):

Probably. If I win, I think I have to make out with a girl to make up for the shenanigans/scandal.
I’ll be wearing Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, or Old Navy. It’ll be a surprise.

5. Are you presenting a prize? If so, which one(s)?:

Not unless you want me too. How about the “I’m sexier than Wil Wheaton” award?

6. If you answered “no” to questions 2 or 4, is there someone who is whom you would like to accept your award for you if you win? (Give full name, e-mail, and URL if applicable):

I want Ernie of (http://www.littleyellowdifferent) to accept it for me. After all, I’m still living in his shadow.

(I should have said Rannie. Afterall, he *did* promise to dress up like Lara Flynn Boyle.)

7. Are you interested in a discount SXSW registration (this’ll be forwarded to you once I get the form)?:

Yes, but maybe not for me. Not sure yet.

Ok, that’s it. Thanks for your help!

MJ’s recommendations on how to follow BlogWhore2 – The Revenge of the BlogWhore

Step1: Go over to Blogrolling.com

Step2: Create a blogroll *just* for the game.

Step3 – Step5: Blogroll the main site, the game play & peanut gallery

Step6: Blogroll the individual blogs of each contestant, judge, and/or peanut gallery member. (lots of fun cool folks here)

Step7: Subscribe to the yahoo group

Step8: Watch your life go to hell.
