I miss my big brother already…So this time our visit was for the most part without lectures but as per the usual, filled with lots of good eating. He’s so dear to me that I always feel like each hug from him is too short.

I feel like being incommunicado for a while. Like a disciple in a desert, or in monk on retreat.I feel like turning off email, the phone, and the cel phone and just spending some time apart from the world for a moment. I feel like I want to get off this ride for a bit.I’m going to take a few days off from this site as I recharge some batteries and take care of the little things that need to get done.

I’ll be back soon enough, promise.

COW updates

05/29/01

A boy who I’ll refer to as my COW/M (Crush of the Week/Month) has something in common with me.Besides the fact that we’re both devastatingly charming dorks, we’re catholic, and we both have really cute ears.

My ear’s on the left and his is on the right. I may have mentioned before that he’s got sloppy cute longish brit pop star type hair. *Grin* By the way, mad props to madboy for delivery of my silly care package to the COW. COW’s parents thought you were nice but were more than a little confused why some white boy from SF who used to deliver their papers would now be dropping off silly tokens of infatuation on my behalf.

Back in the Matrix
I’ll be an extra again tomorrow. Got a call back. The matrix apparently can’t get enough of me. (Puah.. ok…truth is, I’m in it for the food.) In spite of what any actual passengers and my brother may think of my driving, the casting folks think I drive just fine.
Random bit of celebrity spotting.

Scotty boy writes

dear min jung,

you are my hero. I have this old piece of paper on my wall of Life
To Do things. cheesy, yes, but work with me here. #7 is “be an
extra in a film.” so I envy you, even if means a lot of sitting
around and sweating and picking your nails.

on a related note, my roommate works at Peet’s Coffee on ***********
and every morning (without fail) Carrie-Anne Moss comes in for her
joe. And every morning she orders the same thing, and every morning
she leaves without tipping! jack. nothing. now here’s the
question: should she tip? even if it’s just the coins?

I’m of the opinion that what a person does with their money is their own business, whether they’re loaded or whether they’re piss ant broke. It’s theirs and personally no one has any right to make judgment on what they should do with it and should expect no more than they would of any other customer. Everyone should ideally want to contribute or show appreciation in portion to their volition for it and should by no means ever feel obligated.

Unless of course they’re donating to the Min Jung Starving Artist Fund.
Then of course, they should empty out their pockets, rake through their couches, and cash in trust funds to help little ol’ me out.

Peace out,
Min Jung

** UPDATE

Scotty admits to being guilted by those cute little cups out for tips. One vote saying *yeah* she should tip & One vote saying *nay*

Experiencing the Matrix

Soo…
After I got on the set, they suited me up in spandex, they offered me either a red pill or a blue pill. They flew me over to Australia for the filming and I got my own little star diva trailer with bowls of only green M&Ms and chilled Evian in stock. I kicked it with Aaliyah a bit seeing as how we’re both from the Detroit area and exchanged skin care regimen ideas with Jada. Lawrence Fishburne and I talked smack about the little people and Carrie Ann Moss & I made plans to bake cookies together sometime next week. Afterwards Keanu and I made out for a bit and pretty much all he could say after coming up for air was “Woah”.

*PUAH HA HA H A HA HA*
Yeah right.

Clarification.
There is no glamour in being an extra for any film. You don’t really get to meet the stars. As a non union actor (puah) you get nominal pay. You sit on your ass most of the time, and my day as a driver was predominantly spent sweating in my car. Still, it was worth it for the bragging rights of saying you’re involved in the matrix, to see the set in alameda (an impressive replica of a stretch of Australian freeway including an Interstate 101 East & Kangaroo Crossing signs, plus a peep into some of the car chase scenes that will be forthcoming in the Matrix II. (I did indeed spot that looked like Carrie Ann Moss & Jada Pinkette in a mustang chase scene). Not to mention that food servers were pretty amazing. Rack of lamb, sushi, dessert to die for, etc. Stellar.
