So I’m listening… Yeah. I’m listening. Really. Since I’ve started on this silly infatuation with the idea of being a rocker drummer chick, I’ve been paying an excess amount of attention to the noises, rhythm & nuances in all the oratory attacks going on about my day today. I think in the last 4 years I’ve owned my car, this is the first time I really played around with the treble & bass to really hear some of the different levels in the tunes on the way to work. I didn’t even mind the imminent threat of accidentally exploding the airbags on my steering wheel as I tapped on it with my drum sticks while stuck in traffic en route to work today.
Yeah. Man.
So of course now, I gotta get on Napster to check Velvet Underground, Hole, Lucious Jackson, Sheila E & Lenny Kraits to pay attention to the chick drummers. But for right now, I’m listening to Chantal Kreviazuk singing “Wild Horses”. Kick ass. That and Joan Armatrading’s “Weakness in Me” Those raw soulful voices reach deep inside and find that pebble of chilled soul that wants so much be drowned or be found.Yeah, I’m listening. Really.
And where was God today?
Saving me a parking spot this evening to make my evening less hectic.No really.
